OVERVIEW
An underwater paradise of crystal clear waters
Located north west of Puerto Vallarta, outside the limits of the Banderas Bay, La Corbetena is an incredible profusion of sea life, your best chance to spot pelagics.
From manta rays and turtles to dolphins and sometimes even sharks, La Corbetena is home to an astonishing array of marine life. Christal clear waters and perfect visibility, this far from shore rock marks the spot for caves, arches with barnacle- encrusted walls attracting a whole variety of sea life. One hour boat ride each way, La Corbetena requires enough experience to be able to deal with the sometimes challenging strong currents.
What to Expect
A pristine far from shore dive site
The furthest out dive site we can take you at, La Corbetena is known for its pelagic action with schools of jacks, mantas, reef sharks and marlins. Divers experienced enough to cope with the sometimes strong currents, will find themselves swimming through arches, steep walls and caves. While the north side has a sloping area to the bottom, the south part drops rapidly to a sandbar at 120 feet. Our diving here is limited to the summer months when visibility ranges from 60 to 120 ft.
The boat ride to the site
An early start for this excursion, as the boat ride to La Corbetena is 1 hour long each way.
Meeting will be at the dive center in Sayulita at 8.30 am from where we will drive you to the harbour in Punta de Mita.
An average 5 hour excursion, a lunch box will be provided on the boat.
Groups will be of a maximum of 8 experienced divers with certified PADI instructors leading the dives.
Returning Sayulita
We will drive back right after the dives, arriving at the dive center in Sayulita around 3.30 pm.
